Health and Safety Policy

Our approach

Customer Interpreter Ltd is committed to achieving the highest level of performance in the management and application of occupational health and safety practices.

Our employees and subcontractors are encouraged to work flexible hours in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance and we have a Well Being Policy to support this.

Working from home is acceptable where that does not compromise delivery to our clients. The office has been set out to maximise natural light and fresh air and is organised around task oriented work stations.

Our risk profile

We have a low risk profile with a small office, with no lifting, heavy machinery or vehicles. We consider the safety of our staff to be of prime importance, and defensive driving training is encouraged for high mileage staff.

Responsibilities

The overall responsibility for health and safety resides with the Company Director. As Customer Interpreter Limited only has two employees on site, we do not have a Health and Safety at Work legislative requirement to register with the local council’s environmental protection and customer services department.

However, regardless of this we believe that we have a responsibility to carry out all activities in a way that provides a healthy and safe working environment for our employees, contractors, stakeholders, members of the public and neighbours who may be affected by our operations.

The Health and Safety Law poster is clearly displayed in the office and there is also a first aid box.

The company will adhere to, as a minimum, to the compliance requirements of the following legislatives Acts associated with this policy:

· Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

· Work place (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

· The Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992

· Working Time Directive and Working Time Regulations 1998

· Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

· Fire Precautions (Workplace) (Amendment) Regulations 1999

· Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
